China lastly banned pilots and crew from smoking within the cockpit –

Greater than twenty years after the Worldwide Civil Aviation Group's smoking ban on all worldwide flights, China has issued a closing ultimatum to pilots on home flights: smoking within the cockpit and getting a suspension of 12 months. Catch your self once more, it's 36 months previous.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has given pilots many warnings. The ban on smoking within the cabin was banned in October 2017, however airways had been exempted from the requirement to smoke within the cockpit for 2 years.

It follows the current case of an Air China pilot who, so as to conceal his vaping, by chance turned off the air con system of the plane.


It’s now forbidden to smoke within the cockpit of home flights in China.

In response to an alarm triggered by the shutdown of the air con, the flight crew dropped the plane emergency oxygen masks and commenced a descent to a decrease altitude with Respiration air.

Bloomberg reported that any aircrew that would not forestall others from smoking within the cockpit would even be topic to suspension.

Zhang Qihuai, a Beijing lawyer specializing in civil aviation, advised that it was about time that the ban be applied.

"If heavy people who smoke amongst passengers can provide up their behavior throughout flights, there is no such thing as a motive to make the crew an exception, particularly since they’re chargeable for the protection of all on board."
