Contract signed for US$12.7M ferry


The Transport and Harbours Division (T&HD) yesterday signed a US$12.7M contract with an Indian firm to begin the development of an ocean-going passenger and cargo ferry for the North West District and different components of the nation.

The signing marks the tip of a years-long delay within the main venture which is funded by the Indian Authorities.

The contract was awarded to India’s shipbuilding firm, Backyard Attain Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRESL) at a sum of USD$12, 733,403.
