Lorry drivers urged to keep away from Newhaven Ferry Port


The port, ferry firm and native companions are working with the federal government to attempt to prepare Covid-19 testing for the drivers already booked on sailings earlier than Christmas, East Sussex County Council mentioned.

Drivers with bookings, together with these on the port, will likely be saved up to date as this work goes on, the council added.

Hauliers booked on these providers have been contacted and informed to not set out, East Sussex County Council mentioned.

A county council spokesman mentioned: “The Sussex Resilience Discussion board is working as all the time with native transport operators and companies to assist maintain the county transferring and equipped.”
