UPDATE: Valley View Ferry to renew operations Saturday morning

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Valley View Ferry is scheduled to reopen Saturday, April three, 2021 at eight:00 a.m., in keeping with the ferry captain.

The ferry was closed on March 28, 2021, resulting from excessive water circumstances on the Kentucky River.

The paddlewheel ferry shuttles automobiles throughout the river between Jessamine and Madison counties.

The ferry is a free service.  It operates with funding from the Kentucky Transportation Cupboard, the fiscal courts of Madison and Jessamine counties and the Lexington-Fayette City County Authorities.

The ferry is managed by the Valley View Ferry Authority, composed of residents and authorities officers from the three counties served.

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Valley View Ferry is closed till additional discover resulting from excessive water circumstances on the Kentucky River.

The paddlewheel ferry shuttles automobiles throughout the river between Jessamine and Madison counties.

When the ferry shouldn’t be working, the instructed alternate route between Nicholasville and Richmond is US-27S to Lancaster in Garrard County, then KY-52E to Richmond.  The instructed alternate route between Lexington and Richmond is I-75.
